Lockon’s passing was hard on everyone. Sestuna recalls his first day being recruited to Celestial Being when he met Lockon for the first time. Lockon was the first one who accepted him regardless of his tender age. Once Setsuna returns to Ptolemaios, Tieria vents his anger towards Setsuna and blames him for Lockon’s death. Sumeragi however snapped him out of it and told him that the fight is far from over. More after the jump.
Setsuna’s first day in Celestial Being.
Sergei reported everything he knows about the battle to Mannequin - their remaining GN-X units are down to 11, losing the captured Throne Zwei, and the Gundam having obtained a new power. He doubts over a possible victory over the Gundam but Mannequin told him that reinforcements are on their way. Sergei was surprised to hear this, wondering if there are any more units with fake GN Drives. Graham perhaps? Sumeragi is troubled by their current situation, having only Exia is good condition. Tieria then reported in, asking for her next mission plan. He intended to fight till the end, along with both of the remaining Meisters. Meanwhile Setsuna watched the footage of Lockon’s final duel with Al-Saachez. It was then he found his true purpose to fight. Over the UN battleship, they received their unexpected reinforcement - an odd shaped Mobile Armor. Back in Ptolemaios, the bridge crews were having a little chat together while Feldt is writing a letter to her parents and Lockon who are now gone. She promised herself to Lockon that she will survive. Christina too told them that she had wrote a similar letter to her mother who is still alive. She added that she ran away from home before she was selected by Veda. Lichtendahl or shortly Licht, also told that he lost both of his parents during the Solar Wars. Lasse noted that this was their first time talking to each other like that. Later Feldt went to Dynames and met Setsuna there. She was there to place a letter she wrote specially for Lockon. Feldt felt that Setsuna is lonely but he believes that Lockon is the one who is alone. So he placed Haro inside Dynames’ cockpit to stay by his side.
Always blame the loose cannon in the team.
The crying continues for Feldt.
A light moment in Ptolemaios.
Suddenly battle station was issued when the remaining UN forces return with a Mobile Armor powered with fake GN Drives. Not so surprising is that Alejandro is the one who is piloting the Mobile Armor. Though not revealed in this episode, the Mobile Armor is called Alvatore. Alejandro shoots a cannon beam towards Ptolemaios and damaged its rear engine. Exia was then dispatched for the Mobile Armor while Kyrios and Nadleeh stay put to defend Ptolemaios. Hallelujah revealed himself and this enables Kyrios to use its GN Heat Blade and he is in for some serious killings. Lasse inside the combat container bringing Exia, began to engage the Mobile Armor. However the Mobile Armor is heavily fortified with a strong GN Field. Alvatore shoots another beam towards Ptolemaios and makes another hit to the spaceship while seriously damaging Kyrios. The attack destroyed Ptolemaios badly and took Dr. Moreno’s life. The damage also cause system malfunction that causes the failure of the ship’s GN Field. Tieria gotten hasty and activated Trans-Am. He might be taking an edge over the GN-X team but another beam from Alvatore weakens Nadleeh and the GN-X units took advantage to make assault on Nadleeh. However Tieria has not intended to die before he could exact his revenge for Lockon. He fired a shot back to the two GN-X unit behind him and this kills Patrick, finally. Meanwhile Kyrios is still fighting even with the damage sustained.
Unleashing Alejandro’s trump card - his Mobile Armor, the Alvatore.
His spacesuit is as hideous as his Mobile Armor.
Ptolemaios got hit. Severely.
Time for Hallelujah to take charge.
Kyrios looks way much stronger with Hallelujah.
The sunglasses trick didn’t help Dr. Moreno to keep him alive, unlike some other character I know. *cough*Horatio Caine*cough*
Kyrios is not in a good shape now.
Nadleeh got Trans-Am-ed.
Patrick is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Wait. He’s dead. Yay!
A mutilated Nadleeh.
Sumeragi and Ian manually firing shots at the GN-X units using the combat container. Christina told Feldt to check on irregularities on Dynames. Feldt did not notice this but Christina insisted her to check on it, which she later complies to. It was all just a white lie to Feldt so that she could escape inside the combat container together with Sumeragi and Ian. A GN-X unit was able to pass through a barrage of the combat container’s missiles and got the ship’s bridge. The GN-X fired at the bridge. In the heat of the moment, Licht went over to Christina and covered her from the blast. The combat container continued the attack on that GN-X unit and destroys it. However the damage was already done. Licht was heavily injured from the blast and this also reveals his cyborg body to Christina. She felt like a fool, now that she knows that there is a cool guy next to her all this while. Licht was delightful to know that he is loved by someone and then dies. Christina hugged Licht’s body when Sumeragi tried frantically to contact them. Christina gave her reply and when she was asked for Licht, there a long silence to note of his passing. Even Christina revealed to them that she will not survive as it appears that a piece of debris lodged through her back. Giving her final words to Feldt, she told her to survive and begs them to change the world. I got teary eyes at this particular scene though it was already predicted to happen. Nonetheless I salute the scriptwriters for giving a strong emotional impact to this scene. Farewell, Licht and Christina.
A Licht X Christina moment. And the irony is, it’s right before their deaths.
Love this particular screen span. Somewhat looks nostalgic to me.
Licht took some messy injury. And he has cyborg body?!
Licht dies. Note the debris piece stuck to Christina’s back.
Christina soon to meet her end.
Licht and Christina are now gone. Along with Ptolemaios as well.
Sumeragi and Ian had it tough for the last few episodes.
Feldt. Crying. Again.
Lasse is still trying to break through the Mobile Armor’s solid defense shield and went head on towards the Mobile Armor, hoping to break through. The suit lets out a claw to hold the mobile container as Alejandro reveals his intention to create his own world by eliminating Celestial Being and the Gundams. The claw began to tear the container apart, forcing Lasse and Setsuna eject out of the container. And hence, Exia’s final battle (possibly) begins.
A combat container versus a mobile armor. Guess which is stronger.
Exia’s hour of reckoning.
Somehow I couldn’t enjoy this episode as much as the previous one. After I watched it for another time, I began to appreciate this episode better though I still think this one is not a strong episode. The supporting characters - Christina, Lichtendahl, Feldt - were reintroduced in the story by sharing some of their past and this is all too typical of a plot for the character’s departure from the story. Indeed my intuition is not wrong. Also abruptly introduced is the Alvatore, the Mobile Armor maneuvered personally by Alejandro. If Alejandro had already possess such a strong arsenal at hand, why can’t he use them to defeat the Gundams in the first place? But then again, his true intention is world domination which is rather sick for an ambition. I am disappointed that the writers intend to keep Graham for the next season and avoid him from ever appearing the final episodes. Even if he shows up in the coming finale, that would seem too forceful. So my insight of what lies for us in the final episode is that all Gundams may be obliterated as what the preview is suggesting. As for the fate of the Meisters however, I can’t give any predictions just yet. One thing for sure, Setsuna will survive. Otherwise there won’t be any continuation to the story in the next season. Or are the writers trying to pull off the same trick as Code Geass? I know it will be a cliffhanger but I can’t tell for sure how this season will end. Having said that, I keep a low expectation to the story, solely because I believe the story really goes a little downhill this time. It was good in episode 23 but it failed to keep up the momentum in this episode. Nonetheless I am equally excited to know the ending as much as I am excited for the coming Code Geass R2. Those who really follow Gundam 00, don’t miss the Japan airing time for Gundam oo finale this Saturday at 5.30 p.m. and not at the usual time slot at 10.00 p.m.
